The painting really is beautifully atmospheric and it's one of those paintings where a photograph doesn't capture it's depth and mood.

This painting came along while working on it's twin Crannog.
A late night converstation with a friend suggested I paint sneachta (Irish for snow). Little did I know that this must have stuck in the back of my mind, as months working with the medium of cold wax and oil  unearthed the magically light and serenity after snowfall.
This painting captures a snow hidden mountainscape overlooking the sea.
